      HISTORY OF THIS CD:

Evolution is one of the forms of movement in nature and society along with an incessant gradual quantative change. In the evolution of BEATLEJAZZ this movement is very present. The history of this project is quite amazing. The players have all interacted with each other in some format or another over the years.
Larry's first gig in New York was with myself and David about 15 years ago in a small cafe in the village, and before that many gigs in San Francisco in the 80's. David's first session as a sideman was with Randy Brecker and has also played with Scofield and The BRECKER BROTHERS. I played with Stern for 3 years at the dump in New York from '89 through '91. Larry also recorded on Stern's standards albums, and has played and toured with Scofield, Stern and Randy. I mean it's bizarre at best. Stern and Sco played with Miles and in many other formats, and Mike and Randy, and Sco and Stern and myself were all with Jaco at some point as well. And now Boris has been with Dave for his last few CDs and tours. so. This really is about friends musically and behind the scenes. in a big way Jaco's spirit still hovers around all of us. He was a huge BEATLES fan and gave us all a ton of inspiration, thanks JP. We all hope you enjoy the trip.
