Recorded Live at BLUE NOTE Tokyo in September 2006

Larry plays GIBSON Mr.335 Guitar thru a DUMBLE Amp and uses D'ADDARRIO strings and a KORG tuner.

Robben plays 1957 LES PAUL GOLD TOP (on long-term loan from LC) and a NOUPAUL Electric Guitar (built by Taku Sakashta specifically for Robben) thru a DUMBLE Overdrive Special Amp.

I first met Robben in the mid 70's. I was in a group called Tom Scott and The LA Express and we recorded "Court and Spark" with Joni Mitchell. When it came time for Joni to go on tour, I was unavailable and Tom called Robben to join the band. When I heard Robben play for the first time I was "Inspired". He had a unique approach to playing the Blues (mixing Be-Bop notes and phrasing). Man could that kid SWING! ' V. " We became friends and played at a small ¦» " jazz club in North Hollywood, California t every Tuesday night for many months. What an inspiring time that was for me. He played So Great. Since then I have followed Robben's career and music. He has remained one of my favorite all time Guitar players. I am proud to be presenting us together. May you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed playing together. LC

    Special Thanks To

Robben Ford, Robert Williams and Glenn Blackman at WBA ENTERTAINMENT, GIBSON Guitars, Gary Greenberg (Legal), "Ricky Bob" Wheeler for all he does for me and the organization, and my dear wife Michele for always supporting me.

I met Larry Carlton in 1974 - the first time I played with the L.A. Express in preparation for a tour with Joni Mitchell. Larry was there to help me learn some of the material. We got together to play and talk some months later and I hardly felt prepared to play with him. He was already a very seasoned musician and I was still pretty green. He's a very gracious guy and suggested we play a club in L.A., which we did. I'm very thankful he called me once again to make some music. He's a class act, so it's always quality with him. I haven't enjoyed myself this much in a long time. Robben
