    1. The New Frontier

    2. Levittown

      We got room to spare
      A two-car garage
      Baby on the way-o
      Fridgidair extra large
      Everything's goin' our way-o
      We got mouths to feed
      Work to do
A chicken in every pot, yeah
So look at me lookin' at you
And look at what we've got

      And if you're happy
      Then I'm happy
I'm so happy I could scream
      It's the american dream...

      We're gonna live in levittown
We're gonna make it in levittown
      We're gonna live in levittown
Yeah, we're gonna be all right

I like Ike, I like to win
      Hold my head up high-o
      There's nothin' like being american
      Apple pie in the sky-o
I got no Reds under my bed
I ain't no union man, no
Got a new tv aimed at my head
And it ain't made in japan, joe

      We're happy, so happy
We're so happy we could scream
      It's the american dream
    (Repeat refrain)

      And if you're happy ...

    3. White Sands (New Mexico)

I was a teenager when JFK said
We'll send a man to the moon and bring him back safely.
      Well, he had some help...
      Now how cynical is this?
Operation paperclip, at the end of world war 2
Brought the german scientific hierarchy to america -
To design and implement the space program at white sands, new mexico...
Pontius Pilate had less blood on his hands than this bunch -

      My hands are bleeding...

In the middle of a conflagration
In the air over london town
      Like a boy's imagination
      Spaceships come raining down
      In a cave in peenem?nde
In the last hours of the fight
In the middle of the bleeding and the wounded
The good doctor plans his flight

      That's all over now
We fought to our last man
      I need atonement now
      To wash my bleeding hands
      In white sands

I still can't stop the voices
Of the ones who starved and died
      I made my own choices
But can't kill those screams inside
I'm a man of science first
Put the first man on the moon
The french are bad, the russians are worse
Hope the americans get here soon

      But that's all over now
We fought to our last man
      I need atonement now
      To wash my bleeding hands
      In white sands
      My hands are bleeding...

    4. Saw A Satellite

      When I was a kid in 1957
I stood out with my father 'neath the california sky
He said 'look what they did', pointed to the heavens
'Wait just a moment, see the future go by'

He said 'there goes the last chance to hide -
      Don't leave your lights on
Let every man stand and decide
      Whose side he'll be on'

      And I saw a satellite
      Watched it fly by
      Saw everything change tonight
      From a hundred miles high

I went off to school, along with the others
To learn how to think the american way
They shot down the man, shot down his brother
And good doctor king he met jimmy earl ray

      There go the last alibis
      Gone on the breeze
      Gone with the comfortable lies
      We loved to believe

      And I saw a satellite
      I watched it fly by
      Saw everything change tonight
      From a hundred miles high

And the lights in the sky
      To my ten-year-old eyes
Were like whispers, smoke, maybe dreams
      Nikita pounded with his shoe
      Saying 'we'll bury you'
And the whispers all rose into screams
And the ratings went over the moon
      On the day Laika died
But my mother just stayed in her room
      All morning and she cried

      And I saw a satellite ...

    5. This Is Heaven

I came here from the battlefield in 1946
Built my home from brick and steel
      Not from stones and sticks
      Three strong booming babies
      A job and a wife
      Barbeque and television
      A wonderful life
      Woah, woah - heaven
      Woah, woah - heaven

    6. In Babylon

    7. Fremont Street

      In the year nineteen-five
An acre of nevada cost a dollar twenty-five
      Over there in hollywoodland
Nobody cared about rattlesnakes and sand
The came the government put up hoover dam
If you got in early you were a fortunate man
      You were a fortunate man

      And out there in hollywood
Siegel got busy while the gettin' was good
About that time my family drove out west
In a brand-new packard, only the best
      Grandaddy was a gamblin' man
How could he lose with all that land

And we, we could have been millionaires
      Could've owned that place
      Coulda gone anywhere
I guess some people get crazy from the heat
The drinks are on the house you get wobbly on your feet
Even though you got a system that can't be beat
You leave it on the tables on fremont street

My daddy met my mama at las vegas high
They said 'let's get married and give it a try'
Couple years later there were three little kids
Leavin' that place was the best thing they ever did
We got in the car and drove off fast
I heard my dad say 'free at last'

And we should have been millionaires
Should've owned that whole damn town
      Shoulda gone anywhere
But sometimes you get a little crazy from the heat
The drinks are on the house, you get a little wobbly on your feet
And though you've got a system that can't be beat
You leave your money on the table
      On fremont street
      On fremont street
    (Repeat refrain)

    8. Where We Want You

If you want to distract somebody from the bitter truth,
You tell the Big Lie ? you find a common enemy.
It's been done before. Still works, doesn't it?

If you're afraid of people flying airplanes into you
Of going to bed with a cold, waking up with the bird-flu
If you are, if you are, you may be one of us
If you are, if you are, then welcome aboard

We've got you where we want you
We've got you where you breathe
Do anything we ask of you
      Anytime we need
We've got you where we want you

If you're a fan of science fiction like mr. Gore
If you're afraid the boats will be docking at bakersfield shore
If you are, if you are, you might be one of us
If you are, if you are, then welcome aboard
    (Repeat refrain)
If you define yourself by a line drawn on a globe
If you think the devil himself wears sandals and a robe
If you do, if you do, then you're one of us
If you do, if you do, then welcome aboard
Cause we've got you where we want you...

    Keep on believin'

    9. All God's Children

All god's children hatin' on each other
And waitin' for the world to end
      Reading the Koran reading revelations
And hopin' for a happy end

Well all god's children are linin' up
Waiting for the first spot by the gates
Some want to talk to angels
Some are waitin' for a very hot date
Some things you touch and feel, some things you take on faith, yeah
Hey sonny, strap this bang-bang round your waist
And hang out in a crowded place
      All god's children

Well all god's babies are innocent
At least they're born that way
All god's ladies in the firmament
Do they get the virgins like the good books say?
I think you lost me on this stuff about heaven and hell, yeah
Run that by me again how the fallen angel fell, yeah
      Keep on ringin' those bells
    (Repeat refrain)

    Hebrew, hindu, catholic, baptists
    Episcopalian gone mad
    Equal-opportunity nutcase
    Dyin' for a Jihad
So park this car outside the mall
Push the button, that's a good lad
But don't you ever get the feeling that
    Maybe you're bein' had
    All god's children
    All god's children (Repeat refrain)

Well all god's children are linin' up
Tryin' to be the first one through the gates
Some want to talk to angels
Some are gettin' ready for a real hot date
    God's children ...

    10. Waiting For You

    11. Your Eyes

We joined up like two brothers on a whim
You were tom sawyer I was huckleberry finn
We made it seem like a picnic in the sunshine
      We said "what the hell"
      Signed on the dotted line

      But your eyes
You left them on an island
      Somewhere in an ocean
      Somewhere far from home
      Now I'm your eyes

Someone said "watch every step you take"
Way out here all you get is one mistake
A night patrol and I did not see the wire
And all I remember is the whole world caught on fire

      And my legs
I left them in a jungle
      Somewhere on an island
      Somewhere far away
      I might have even prayed

      And now that we're heroes
I'll keep these medals shiny and lookin' sweet
      And I'll read to you
All of the news from home
Get a dog, you can push me down the street
A compromise – your legs, my eyes

      I'll be your eyes
      Your eyes
      Your eyes
      Your eyes
    1

    12. What We Did

      If anybody hears me now
This is coming from way underground
From a bunker in the plains of the middle west
I guess you know by now
Things got out of hand somehow
Duck and cover did not pass the test

I did the job they gave to me
Punched in the codes, turned the key
You could feel the rumble all the way down to your bones
I don't know where mine were aimed
You never know that kind of thing
But east of the jordan river no one answers the phone

      And what we did
We did because god told us to
What it cost was everything we had
If you're hearing the sound of my voice
Believe me they left us no choice
I'm just missing the sound of the children I'll never have
      I'll never have

They must've had some warning there
They got the cabinet in the air
You never saw old men movin' so fast
I guess they're still in charge
      They're still the palace guard
At least until the plane runs out of gas
        (Repeat refrain)

We did what we did, did what we did
        Cause god told us to
We did what we did, did what we did
        Cause he loves you
Salvation is waiting - most of you are already there
Salvation is waiting - most of you are already there
        What we did ...

      13. Go Out Dancing
