"Rockshow" captures McCartney and WINGS during the
"Wings Over America" tour they embarked on just prior to the release of the album
"Wings At The Speed Of Sound".
The big hit was the adforementioned humorous romantic ditty
but Sir Paul and his venerable crew provide a full palette of vintage beatlemania,
tracks from "Band On The Run" and "Venus And Mars",
the requisite acoustic jam where you know who is able to sing songs about monochromatic birds
and a full out rocking finale featuring a blistering rendition of 'Hi Hi Hi' among other assorted pop curios.
Former Moody Bluesman Laine also provides a few interesting tunes like non-McCartney material
like 'Go Now' and 'Place To Hide' along with a thrilling rendition of his
'Spirits Of Ancient Egypt'. Even though this show appears patched together from numerous dates of the tour the experience
is nonetheless seemless and enjoyable.
